Clutch Problem on K

So I was driving my Gleaner K around this afternoon and halfway through the field it up and stopped. It was like you put it in neutral, I can go into any gear without pressing the clutch and it won't move at all, anybody know what might be wrong? I'm hoping it the clutch hasn't gone out, maybe the linkage broke? I checked the belts and chains and everything looked to be ok there. If it is the clutch how hard of a job is it to put one in??

A missing woodruff key on the variable speed driven sheave on the transmission input shaft will make it do that. The key is in the outer half of the sheave, behind the left drive tire. Possibly the cotter pin came out of the castle nut and it loosened enough to release the key. The sheaves will be turning and look normal, but are just spinning on the shaft. Look at the castle nut on the end of the shaft next to the left drive tire. It can be put back together where it sits to get it out of the field. For the long term, the input shaft needs to come out and be checked for damage and wear. New shafts are no longer available from AGCO, but the existing shaft can be rebuilt by a machine shop.

i'll check those things and see what I can find. Do you know by chance the difference in the Laporte and Comfort Cabs? I'm trying to figure out which one I have.

IIRC the LaPorte cab has an ID tag near the top, by the door. Maybe a sn as well? Dunno about any Comfort cab.

I checked everything over and the cotter pin is in the nut and the nut is tight, couldn't tell about the key though. i'll just have to take it apart and see what is going on.

There is a tag in the cab that says "LePorte Plant" but the picture on the parts page makes it look more like a Comfort cab. Go figure!

Gleaner had some cabs with rounded gray, maybe fiberglass roofs.....would they be the comfort cabs? I remember some Model G combines had them, as well as others. My K had the all steel LaPorte cab.

Mine has the metal roof so it should be the LaPorte cab, the corn head on mine is a KL238 and the neighbor has an A238 head, is there many differences in the two? I'm thinking mine is older?

Oh, the tach doesn't work at all on any of the switch selections, where is a good place to start to see what might be wrong and to get it working again.
