7720 hydro not moving

Have a 7720 JD hydro, it was 0 degrees or less today when drove it out of barn(started, moved it right away, no warm-up time)drove ahead 30' and was very hard to steer, after a few attempts to turn it to get backed up it now does not move...what may have happened? oil is at correct level...things all "look" connected, pump problems?

Check to see if you broke the charge pump belt. It is the small belt that runs inside the bottom set of belts. IF that is not it then you may have a hydraulic filter frozen up. The filter is in the oil reservoir. You drain the tank and then take out the row of bolts on the back of the tank. Then remove the round plate. The filter is right there.

Also I have seen the drive coupler break between the hydro and the transmission in cold weather.

You could have wiped out the swatch plates in the hydro too. I have seen them scrapped when the oil was too cold to run between them correctly.

For the future. NEVER just take off with the hydro not warmed up for a little bit. Start the combine. Put it in neutral and shove the hydro wide open. Run the engine at 1200-1500 RPM. Let it run a few minutes to warm up.

PS: The steering and the hydro are two separate systems. The hard steering is just the oil in the cylinder being cold and not wanting to return back to the control valve.
