CASE tractors

A cold day so thought I would put some pics of my Case equipment. I used to have 2 2470s and 2 2290s, but now only have 1 2470 left.

The 2470 has not been used for farm work since 2000 and hadn't been started since 2009 when I had the last water leak. But had a water line break this summer so put a set of batteries in it and it fired right up!

I bought the 2290 used in 1982, which belonged to a neighbor and he put 100 hours on it since 1979. All I ever used it for was as a planting and haying tractor, but the planter outgrew the tractor in 2003 so I retired the tractor. But I thought it was too nice a tractor to sit in the shed, so I took it to the local tractor sale and sold it. Didn't do to bad....bought it for $23000 and sold it for $17000 in 2012 after putting about 4500 hours on it!

Nice tractors thanks for posting 4490s are going for 5000 around here wouldn't mind picking one up for some cheap hp and traction on the hills .

Blaine....I still have the WA40 I bought from you in 1979. It's restored but I am not sure if I have any pictures of it. Guess my WD40 came from you also!!!

If you live in SE Iowa, then I thought that you bought both of my WD-40's...You got one at my place and another plus extra parts at Quinter,KS..I'd stashed them at Dan C's place..Thats was a long time ago and the memory isnt what it used to be..Didnt you run in to a friend of mine last year at the Jefferson,Iowa sale?

This winter I was trying to figure out how many old tractors I once owned and where they all went to..I'd love to see pictures of the WA-40 and WD-40..My email is open..

Over the years I've owned (10) 40 series McCormick tractors and currently have a running 1936 WK-40 that needs paint..I may bring it to Red Power in 2015 at Sedalia,MO..

the 504 was one of the best tractor engines of that era in my opinion, good power, reliabile fuel efficient, good starting and lots of torque, the jd guys could never figure out how a person could start out in 4th with 1000 bu of corn behind a Case at a fast idle

The 504 is still one of the best engines ever put in a tractor. We still farm with Case tractors. Darn good tractors.

My father-in-law bought a new 2470 in the middle 70's. Pulled a seven bottom plow with it. I can't remember him having any major trouble with it. Jim

when I was in high school the neighbor come over and asked if I could run his nearly new 2290 on the cultivator as his hired man was at guard camp, I had been cultivating our corn with our 1850 Oliver and after sitting in that air conditioned cab of thew Case I thought I was in paradise!
