2013 is in the books for me----Finally!I was able to get 99% of my wet spots when it froze Monday and Tuesday(The combines were a real bear to get cranked at fifteen degrees though).I finished up on Wednesday and was glad to see the last four rows go in the head.We put around 2250 acres through my old Claas machines this year and I am looking foward to some rest before starting the party ove again for 2014.

Congratulations. Those machines must be money makers, not money takers!
Neighbor finished up one guy this past week, then another one called. I saw them moving Thur., when it was still frozen solid. But it looks like they just tried it and quit. Now it's 50 degrees and raining.

Here in southern Ohio I have seen beans still in the ground don't know why. They look good to not from been to wet ground was hard up in till the inch of rain and 50 all night last night and to day. My yards soft now.

Well I am betting your glad your done!!!

Just in time to get ready for another year. LOL

Every feel like a hamster in a wheel??? I do at times.

Local fellow here is always saying that the only way he will ever get caught up is to get a FULL year behind.

I feel just like I'm in a wheel spinning all the time! Hard to believe in about four and a half months wheat will be ready again.Thats just about enough time to patch them back up for the next battle.

Year behind? Reminds me of the local story a few years ago about the BIGGEST bto here. (I"m not one who always criticizes the BTOs- they are often innovative, creative, cutting edge technologists- the ones I don"t like are the cutthroats).

But the story was of how he planted 400 day corn! Planted it in the Spring, harvest got tough with too much mud, his harvest area is 10 miles NE of here, I don"t know how far North, but also 1200 acres 45 miles NW...IDK how much locally...anyway, tough Fall, lotsa wind, put the bean head on to harvest a local field....didn"t work, so he came back just before the next year"s planting, and harvested what was left. About 400 days after planting.

here in southern in,we finished 40 acres of corn on my place today . we would had been done a month ago . on farm storage issues,, long lines at the elevator shootin a whole nice warm sunny afternoon just tryin to get a turn to unload my brother still has 60 acres of corn ,, and 15 acres of beans .. muddy sloppy mess... THIS corn will not dry down ,with just air , got to use propane ,cgb flat refuses beans that are 14 percent. they have too much backlog of wet corn to deal with . I have been told that a few times they turned folx away that brought in rr ready over 17 %,, .. we raise non gmo corn, it pays 40 cent premium , if less than 15 moisture , they would take it wet ,but you loose the 40 cents and then get skinned hard for the moisture .. if cgb needs corn to fill a barge they mite go as hi as 16 to blend with dryer corn ,we were stalled here holiday week . with decent weather to combine . all bins and trux , wagons were full ,, no place open to take the grain .. btw ,,, I am sellin corn for half price of last yr ..

Glad to hear you're done. It's a big load off your shoulders, I'm sure. I'll bet you won't be able to look at a combine for awhile. Jim
