I bought a repro parts manual and an operators manual, both of which are very good quality. According to the parts book, the fingered reel is a "universal harvester" reel. My running combine also has a fingered reel but its different. The part book describes it as a "massey ferguson reel". Every time I work on these little machines I'm a little more fascinated! I hope to bring my running one into working order by harvest time this year. The parts machine has all the brackets where the large side shield mounted, but sadly as was the fate of most of them I'm sure, it is long gone.

I am now the proud owner of this little jewel! It took my dad and I about five hours to cut down all the scrub around it and finally get it loaded. It"s a very complete unit, but probay hasn"t ever seen a day inside. I bought it for a parts machine for one I"m bringing back to life. These are very neat little machines to us. We have loved our antique tractors for years, but this is a new experience! If there is any good source of information on these combines I would love to know more about them.

Good Deal. I brought one home myself a few weeks ago. Sometimes I look at it and wonder what I was thinking!! But it will be a lot of fun once I have it up and running. I think the biggest thing I will have to find for it are belts, at least that's my hope. I believe yours had a pick-up reel? I would like to find one for my machine. I want to be able to harvest beans or wheat with it and in our neck of the woods a pickup reel comes in handy for beans.

I have my Grandfathers MH 35 combine. I have the engine rebuilt, but I broke the variable drive pulley and either need to machine a new hub or find a replacement. I have some literature on the combine I could scan if you send me an email. I also have some sources I used when I restored it. Some parts are still available NOS through Massey but not many and they tend to be a bit pricey.

Yep, see several things I"d love to have off it, especially that pick-up reel and those look like genuine rear rims instead of car rims!

Thanks! I will need them in a while if you still have them then. I have a couple other projects I have to finish up before I start working on the combine.

Al,I think almost every 35 Massey I"ve ever found had car rims and tires on it..I guess they needed the flotation..

A friend recently found a 35 Massey about 20 miles from me..He will let me know more on Tuesday..The owner was talking about junking it and we dont want that.....I guess it has a cab on it..

There are several projects ahead in line before I really start looking, but the stock rear rims on the 35s remind me of some used on certain tractors--MH Pacer or Pony, maybe even an Allis B? Anyhow I feel like once I know a part number they should turn out to be easy to find. I hope!

Both the front and rears of my MH 35 are the same size that I have on my Allis B.
