Finally got one!

I have wanted a 35 for years. Finally found one 3 hrs. from home advertised on YT. Got it home yesterday. It won't run right now but I don't think it will take much to get it to run. I have the big side shield for it, the tinwork is straight, and everything appears to be all there. I'm very excited to save this one!

It appears to be a '60 model. It has a Massey Ferguson serial number plate, MASSEY HARRIS on the sides and front, but a Massey Ferguson decal on the back. The ignition key is engraved MHF.

It's been under a shed, the internals look ok. My goal is to get it to run and then go from there.

Have to smile everytime I see a 35. A neighbor had one and he must of weight 350 pounds. a big guy to start with. Another neighbor was a little guy, probably 5' 2'' and he bought a JD 55. Had to stand on his tippy toes or stand in seat to look in grain tank.

OK Al, Glad you finally got one and close to home to boot.

My cousin bought a new one back when they came out. Soybeans were the toughest thing to run back then . It wasn't the bean that gave trouble but the weeds. Roundup Ready beans will eliminate the weeds. I always said where were the weed free beans back in the days when we had the small machines that one healthy "jimson weed" would plug up the entire machine ! Only thing to slow you down now will be todays yields will fill small tank quite often. But that's a good thing.....more beans mean more money.

Keep us posted , Bill

SuperA my 35 has both names on it also, always wondered about it. If you decide to get a manual I got mine from the Massey dealer but I sure any Acco dealer can get it for you. The part# is 609491M1 operators manual MF35SP combine cost less than $10 in '04.HTH
