4420 with wheel spacers-

The 4420 I am working on has 6 inch wheel spacers behind the wheels. First time I have seen them. The 4420 final drive carries the same part no. as a 4400 But the wheel bolt pattern is larger and the final drive hub is much heavier. Is this the normal 4420 final drive?

I have the same 6 inch spacers on my JD 6620. Previous owner wanted to keep the tires off of the corn stalk row as much as possible to reduce stalk damage to tires. I don't know if they were a Deere item or aftermarket. Some would say they are harder on the final drives. My JD 4420 has the same bolt pattern as my JD 6620. I guess there was a lighter duty final drive and hub in the earlier JD 4400's??? Maybe you could have ordered the heavy duty final drive and hub but it was not standard in those earlier years on the 4400. I asked a similar question a month or two ago on here. JD Seller knows the story I am sure.
