Bad case of white smoke, loss of power and hard starting. A bit new to diesels so a little help to identify the cause would be appreciated. This is a new to me combine. It has a new air cleaner in it.

With engine running place your hand in the exhaust. If your hand tastes sweet then you have a head/gasket or some other problem with the cooling system entering the combustion chamber. Is the crankcase oil MILKY? With engine running disconnect each fuel line (one at a time) and check to see if white smoke stops.

Well that filter in the glass bowl was almost completely blocked. I cleaned it and ran the combine, did help but still some white smoke. I didn't have an extra filter for up on the engine so maybe tomorrow I can run for another one. After that I have to try some of John Deere D's suggestions.
