I am helping out a neighbor who just bought a Gleaner K that was sitting for quite some time.We are working on the cleaner fan located under the middle of the machine.I am attempting to locate a set of the fan shield spikes that cover both sides of the fan housing preventing debris from entering the fan unit.Anybody have any idea where I could find a set?
I was also wondering if someone could give me the dimensions of the plywood fan blades. The fan blades are pretty much gone, with only a few shorts stubs sticking out of the blade brackets.
The part # for the fan is 1137786,and the fan shield part # are 1154699.There are 4 parts needed for each application.I can make the fan blades if given the proper dimensions. However I cannot seen to find the plastic fan shields.
Any help would be appreiciated.

check with Oakley combine oxford n.c. 919-693-4367, they specialize in gleaner combines, he's been in business along time and a good source of information and parts for older gleaner combines

I have seen the fan shields made from expanded metal. The just made two parts that where two halves. just a small hole for the fan shaft to got through. Bolt them to the combine with bolts and fender washers.

I had thought of that, but I saw where the fan shields turned with the shaft and I could not see how the expanded metal spinning could be safe.
It never occured to me to attach the expanded metal to the machine with a hole for the shaft.

Does anyone know how the plywood fan blades can be accessed, other than reaching in from the sides. The round plate at the bottom appears to be welded in place, and I can see no benefit to removing the top piece of sheet metal that forms the top part of the drum,as I cannot see any way to gain access.
Thanks for all the information, and I hope I can pick a few brains in the next few weeks.
It is great to have this source of information, and it is hard to buy knowledge.

Thanks
Patrick

I replaced the fan blades on mine a few years ago. got one of the stubs out for the hole dimensions, then made the length about an inch shorter then the width of the fan housing. Got a few extras in the shed. I can get the dimensions for you if you haven't gotten it figured out. haven't been on the site for a while as I have been real busy with the main job.
