john deere 40 combine

In the past I would have guessed around $2000 or slightly more depending on options, but 1206SWMO reports there are alot of them in his area and therefore would guess around $1000 or maybe slightly less. But you have got to consider shipping which could make one in your area worth more.

I have a total of $750 in the 40 JD combine and 205 corn head.40's arent that hard to find in my area and the price range is usually $600-1250.I know of at least 6 that I could go look at within 90 miles.Just heard of a 40 in a shed for $1000 not that far away.

Last Spring I had a guy in NE Oklahoma offer me a 40 for $1250 that had only been used for 4-5 years by a JD dealer to cut fescue seed.It never had grain ran thru it.He swore it was the best and lowest hour 40 in existence. It sold before I got to go look at it.Just heard of a 40 in a shed for $1000 not that far away.

1206-----I'm about 80 miles SW of your location. Any of those you know about your not going to buy that would make me a good fescue combine? Thanks, LB

In my mind, it is doubtful any machine that old could command a $2000 price ,however ,,serveral factors could weigh in, Overall Condition ,and use ,storage care ,make and model ,special use capability ,parts and servicability, And Of Course ,a machine that is 5 miles away is much more valuable than an equal one that is 300 miles away , .Running dependable 20 yr old machines, with lots of good hours left in them, require TLC ,Same as you would a new machine ,,,But They sell just above scrap price ,.......... just thinking, and saying what most of You already Know , jim

There was a 40 JD for sale for $800 a month ago not that far from you in the SW corner of MO. PH 417-762-3695.

I myself would get a 45-55 JD or a E-K-F Gleaner.Gleaners are real popular fescue combines.

I'm currently looking for a nice JD 40 combine. I realize your posts concerning that topic are old, but do you still know of nice ones available in your area?
