Who is planning to move up?

Hasrvest is pretty well over across the country, so who is planning for a bigger, or better, or newer combine for next year?

Here in NE Iowa there is about a third of the corn crop in the field yet and is still up to 32% moisture. Not too many guys looking just yet, although I did sell a new 8 row head Monday.

Not me.I did that last year.Went from a 45 to a 95.I would not have been happier if there was a brand new 9600 in my yard.Love that 95!

Does having to install a different engine count? Hopefully it's better! The thrown rod epidemic hit my CaseIH 1660 CDC 8.3 early this fall. Luckily I found a used truck engine close by. Turns out the engine in the combine was not original! Repair sleeves on both ends of the crank. Incorrect turbo.
I don't need a six row machine. But with aging, harvesting, hauling, and unloading myself, it sure is nice.

I am with you, I am going to do some rebuilding on my 95 and just keep it running good. Ah the simple non computer things in life make it good. Bandit

I just brought home a 'new to me' 4400-JD. Its replaceing the old and tired 55-JD. I have also purchased a 444 corn head, looking for a 313 if anyone knows of one around.
The 4400 was heading to the scraper, bought it as is with a bad clutch for scrap price.

I did before this year, well sorta.
new chrome bars and a new concave in a late 9400. I bought it used 8 years ago and it never has run better than this year. I'll be keepin' it for a long time.

I bought my 1st combine this year does that count?

This is when I first started it after sitting for 8+ years

In front of my shop with my dog in it and me

I just bought my first combine. A 1985 CaseIH 1460. It has 4500 hours new rotor, new concave new sieves, bushings, new front tires, new unloading augers, new clean grain auger, and new interior for $5000. Bought a 963 corn head for $2500 and now I'm looking for a 20 foot grain head have one in my sights. I have been renting a machine from a friend for several years but couldn't turn this one down.

Hmmm I bet you are looking for a 443 rather than a 313. A 313 was a 3 row narrow for the 5 series combines without the intermediate feederhouse.

Well, all you Jd guys got me feeling left out. No new one for next year but I WILL have my 1160 case ready for oats and corn next year. Used the 77 pull type one more year.

I got the opportunity to get rid of the C2 Gleaner that I used this year to get started and move up to a 7700 Deere. Now I just need to find a head for it before I sell the Gleaner.
Was given the 7700 and am praying that God has some land in mind for me to put it on. Way too much combine for what I currently crop.

I upgraded right before harvest. Sold an Oliver 7300 that I really liked, and got a New Holland TR85. They are not popular here, but I like mine.

Upgraded before harvest this year. Got a good deal on a 1480 IH. Now what do I do with the old White? That 1480 is a big step up from a 8600 White!

I bought a 105 Deere this fall but it needs a few things so it will not go to the field to 2014.Our 55 is wore out and we are going to part it out and use the 95 for beans and the 105 for corn. It has a quick attach feederhouse and we just bought a 444 low tin corn head.

We upgraded in the summer of '12 from nothing a a Gleaner R52, it treated us fairly well this fall even though we had a couple of breakdowns. With out acreage this machine fits us well.
