Gleaner F concave bars

Dad swore by half rounds. He devoutly put them in for corn every year, and put the channel irons back in for grain.
I filled my F2 concaves with rasp bars and left them in.

I never knew they existed, but reading the manual you can learn all sorts of things! Book showed lots of options for cylinder and concave bars. Channel irons, half channels, half rounds, rubber faced, spike tooth/spring bed, etc.
I got most of the concave rasp bar sections from a combine salvage yard. So someone else had used them!

Well I have new channel bars. Should you run them in the 1,3,5 positions or is there a different sequence guys have found to be better? Mostly beans but a few acres of corn. Have the "aggressive" cylinder bars. Any help would be appreciated. Didn't see the rasp concave bars in the manual thanks for the advice Bob.
