Reed, I followed up on that late 45 that you posted from CL with the 313 header. I got it bought and drove the 400 something miles to pick it up. I paid too much but I didnt know where else to find a header. It's been sitting for many years. The header is in good shape but the 45 combine it toast.

I plan to remove the header and take off any parts from the combine that I think might be useful for my machine and haul the remainder to be shipped to China in little pieces. I hope that accept lots of rust :)

Thanks again for the heads up on the 313! It's going to take some work but I think it will run again. Dad drilled wheat this past weekend which means second crop beans for 2014 so perhaps I can have the header ready for 2015 corn if he plants any.

Not really. It has been sitting outside for many years. Both side doors have some "rust through" where the seams are spotwelded to the sheet of metal. My good combine needs side doors but these are too rough for me. It does not have a hood. The Excel aftermarket cab with ventilation fans is not in bad shape if that interests you?

No, but I'll work on that. The metal is pretty straight on the header and it doesn't really show much wear but it has spent several nights outside in western Missouri. It's going to take some time to get it all apart and freed up. New chains and several new bearings I'm sure.
