JD 9500 concave leveling?

We are putting in new rasp bars and a Loewen concave during this little wet spell and don't have a tech manual for our combine, only have the operator's manual and it doesn't say much about what we are doing. We got it out last night, the last issue was the beater grate did not want to release from the concave even after the eye bolts were unbolted, had to use a chisel pointed spud bar to work it apart from the front (through the cylinder.)
Can anyone offer a procedure for leveling the concave? Once it's in and bolted up, there are inspection windows in the side of the machine to look inside and see the rasp bars. As I understand we put the cylinder drive into neutral so the cylinder will spin and turn it to find the highest rasp bar by allowing it to "tick" the concave and then set it from here using this rasp bar. Then by working with the adjusters to set the front bars to about 1/4" wide Note: the front rasp bars are somewhat wider than the rear, set the rear to about 1/32", at that point set the concave stop and zero the indicator.
Question: Is there any one bar that should be considered "front" and then "rear" ? Thanks, and I hope you can follow my blabbing.
