313 header On a late 45

What is the limiting factor on the super late 45 combine in corn? I assume the raddle chain can be sped up as well as the clean gran elevator.

Will a late 45 run the 313 in 120-150 BPA corn?

Will I be running out of sieve area?

I've got plenty of engine HP so long as those two little V-belts can deliver it to the beater shaft.

I had a 1965 45/313.It would handle good corn.But it was slow.A 45 is a 2row machine.It will do 3,just slow.It was a great little machine that did a great job.

I remember you talking about selling the 45 and the two 105s but I couldnt remember if the heads went also. Do you know if the present owner of the 45 had plans to thresh corn with the machine or was it headed for small grains?

The 'new' owner is an older semiretired gentleman. He planned on doing both corn and small grain. In fact,he begged me to sell him the unit,I finally 'caved' and let it go.Last summer a raspbar came loose and wiped out the cylinder/concave.He says he will fix it.All replacement parts are there from a 'junker'.Either way,The thing probably never be sold till he is gone..

(quoted from post at 11:17:43 10/17/13) Thanks a HEAP! I gave that number a ring and left a message. We will see what happens.

Well.... Guy called me back. He said he was willing to sell the header but it would cost $900 if he took it off. I told him no worries that I could get it off. He changed his tune and said that he couldn't allow that since it was such a liability. He said he wanted $1600 for the whole rig. I told him that his ad said $1000. He never acknowledged. He then said how about $800 for the head to which I never responded. He then him-hoed around and talked about this that and the other then said "I'll have to talk to my dad since we are partners on it."

This guy happens to be the most spastic and wishy-washy person in which I have ever spoken to on the phone. I despise doing business with this type, especially over the phone. They constantly act like they feel like they are being taken advantage.

Why does the strange and possibly shady guy always have to be the one that has the strange part that I desire?

Business is easy in my world. The seller sets a price and the buyer says yes or no and says thanks for your time regardless of the outcome.

Anyways... I'm going to give him one more shot and then I'll give it up. I don't need trouble with the seller after having to drive 7 hours to get the header.

I've never had a transaction in which both parties weren't happy. I don't intend to start now.
