anyone want to see the inside of a combine ?, now's your chance because I probably need a helper for this job... ,the far rite straw walker broke busted its mount block ,, now how do I fix it? ,,looks like the sieves need pulled out ,, then ,the grain pan needs released at the front and shoved back to get some figtin space ,..then the offending walker should unbolt and be able to be repaired and or replaced ,,wonder if I should replace the walker bearins while in there ,, and anything else ???

Yes, it is done exactly as you say. I had to replace one last year. You need two people. One to crawl inside and one to hand in the tools. Because it is such a project to get yourself in and out of there, you only want to do it once. I might add--now is the time to take the shims out of the wood blocks or replace them if needed. You do not need to flatten the clips holding nuts on, just put an open end wrench on and turn the nuts. Once you have nuts off your outside guy can pound the clips flat. Lordy, lordy am I glad I don't have to do that job again. I got rid of my 750 and got a Case for this year. I was the last one in the neighborhood to run a 750. Used to be several.

thanx flying Belgian ,,why don't you come to this locale and hang out til WE get this rascal fixt ,, LOL ,,, I recall about 30 yrs ago , farm journal was listing the best machines on the farm by farmers voting ...the massey 750/760/860won hands down , ,ford f series pikups ,,,not sure which tractor,, but I would bet they chose green

And with that rousing endorsement from Farm Journal, would that be why the magazine has to be given away free, so the advertisers get THEIR word out? FJ and Successful Farming used to be worthwhile pubs......now, they"re just feeders for their sponsors. Remember when they had real articles about farming? New building designs, crop production, animal husbandry, etc?

Take a sawzal to the old straw walker and bring it out in two peaces unless it is repairable. My son and a helper had one out of a 750 and another back in and the machine back in the field in six hours. We had a spare walker on hand. Pretty Much the equivalent of a 13 second four tire and gas pit stop in Nascar
