Just had the hydrostatic motor quit on my 106... so have been looking for another machine (maybe), i will fix mine up, but also looking for a back-up machine or for my old girl to become the back-up. Found this...
exciting...

oj,I am a DIE HARD Claas man but I would run from that one fast. The thought of 8(I think thats right)cylinders behind a conventional cylinder instead of walkers just spells trouble.I could not imagine a rock, stump or a wad of vines going through the cylinders without really making a mess on the inside. One other reason I would be scared of it is the engine. If memory serves me correct these tracked models came with a 3306 Cat engine.I am also a DIE HARD Cat man and love the 3306 but I have seen my fair share of them fail when they were used in constant high rpm applications like this. This is my 2 cents worth so please don't let it influence you one way or the other.

Haley, i'm not seriously looking at this one (too far away), but i just missed a 112 for $5000 about 3 hours away. The 112 is a 52inch machine with the cylinders like the one in the link, but v6 merc and wheels.

I just thought it was cool... and for some reason i think if you needed those tracks, you probably shouldn't be in the field lol

Those tracks would make a nice platform for tools and parts when you're wrenching on it but getting to the bottom of the elevators, or anything underneath, for that matter, might be a chore. Jim
