Need JD 55 info please

My 55EB sn is 85167, wondering what year that makes it?? Also, trying to rebuild the carb but it has no tags on it so I do not know what kit to get for it and the JD website is not showing me a M/S model number just the JD part number. (303 power unit) Thanks guys Mitch

Probaly a 68 or 69 model. You got a pretty high serial number. As far the carb make sure you have a good parts man at the dealership. I believe he will need to look under power units instead of 55 combines. I had parts man a couple years ago who couldnt figure that out. Try not to cuss the engineers who put the carb on the back side of the motor to much either. It is not the easyest place to get to.

Thanks I'll try the dealer, we are lucky all three parts guys are excellent. As for the hard to get to, not mine as someone was already in there and enlarged the access hole.

Mine has a serial number of 85406 and it is a 67. Does yours have a split door on the cab? That was the first year for a split door.

Yep split door. Gives me 3 levels of A/C, window, door, and door
