Good Things To Those Who Wait

You might remember about a year ago I was talking about buying an Oliver 7300 diesel but then the gentleman that owned it passed away and I didnt want to go over and ask about it while the family was dealing with his death. Well today his grandson came over and told me they are ready to sell. All the equipment except for the tractors are going. He made it sound like they werent expecting much more than scrap out of it so I should hopefully be able to get it pretty cheap. Im getting it with a 4 row wide head and a 13 foot flex head both quick-tach. Im also probably going to pick up a full set of Oliver hay equipment from them and who knows what else. I tell you what, I had to stop myself from jumping right out of my shoes when this guy came over. Its a good sign when they come to you instead of you going to them. We are probably goin to look at the equipment in a couple weeks. Ill let you guys know how it goes.

From the stories that others have posted, I wouldn't wait a couple weeks - someone else may come along and offer them more money, and you will be out of luck!

We have known these people for years. My dad worked with the guys grandson, the one who stopped buy. He said nobody else is allowed on the property untill we look it over and decide what we want. Plus my dad is down in North Carolina on vacation for the week and I dont want to go over untill he is back to go with me. Long stories short, its safe to wait.

Congratulations.
That's refreshing to hear. Seems like it always goes the other way.
Elderly neighbor/relative died years ago, as I was starting out. I waited a bit, then talked to his widow. She was fine. But her son in law BTO got the nice line of mint, small, older machinery. It was trashed shortly.
