I have a 50 year old combine that needs cylinder bars, but they are obsolete from the manufacturer. They are 1 3/4" X 23 7/8". Does anyone out there know of any brand of bar that I can fabricate from? Thank you very much in advance!!

You might try Trimpe in Seymour Indiana. I have their bars in 2 of our 3 combines and they make a world of difference.

Tell us the make and model of the combine!!! I am willing to bet that there are a lot of us that have new old stock bars and good used ones but not more than one or two of us know the dimensions of the bars. I would bet that we do know what model of combine.

My combine is a JD 42. The self propelled 40 uses the same bars. Thank you very much for your reply!!

O K. Now tell us if it is a round back or square back. There is a difference. Three bolts for the square back and two for the round back.

Don,
I just changed the bars in a 42 and the parts book showed two spider webs in the 42 round back and three webs in the square back. The bolts were welded to the bars and were sold as balanced pairs. Don't see how you could have extra bolts.
