Yesterday at Burrton,KS I talked to a guy that has 4 real old pull type combines that he would like collectors to have..

(2) McCormicks
(1) Case on steel wheels
(1) Baldwin Gleaner on bomber tires

Even though he parts out tractors other scrappers have been bugging him to buy the combines..

He said the price range would be $300-400 each...Is there any interest?

Also last night a guy called me about a want ad that I had for old tractors..He has a 55 JD combine in the shed in the Eureka,KS area..

Blaine, I'd be interested in the Case, and I'm not that far from Burrton. Did he indicate how old the Case is? thanks, Greg

Around 50 miles from El Dorado, or about 20 miles west of Newton on Highway 50. I'm about 40 miles north of El Dorado. GLB

I know Newton.I have relatives that live and have lived there.Traveled '1st street' between Burns/Cassody and Newton.Dad was raised at Burns, still have family there. Are you at Marion? My mother was raised there.Got family at CottonWood Falls, too.

Joe,no pictures..I"d never met him before and only talked to him briefly at the sale..He was leaving and going to another sale...

I"ve got to go back out there to get my 21-32 TC tractor..If hes available I might swing by and take some pictures..

Greg, the Case is on steel wheels so I'd say its old..The combines are in the Halstead,KS area if I remember right..My email is open..

Yes, I"m north of Marion a little bit, lived here my whole life ( so far). if your mom has kin around here still, I probably know them. Greg

1st street east from Newton is how I get combines home from Kansas...Elbing,Cassoday,Teterville,Hamilton,Virgil,Vernon,Neosho Falls,Devon, and then on in to MO on all gravel or blacktop roads where everyone leaves you alone..All there is for 30-40 miles thru the Flint Hills is you and the cows..

I've also hauled 5 combines thru Cottonwood Falls..I take a gravel road east from Caseys and then hit some lesser traveled blacktop roads in to MO..

Mom was a Dunn.Clyde and Fern Dunn were her parents(they died in the early 60s).Ira Penner is the only liveing relative in Marion.Beth Collett(Howard) is Dad's sister,John Spinden in Cottonwood is dad's youngest brother.Dad (Bill) lived at Baazar for several years.

I think that road east of Cottonwood Falls is a very pretty drive. I roaded a 6600 combine from south of Ottawa to Marion one June afternoon and took that route. You said once you know all the back roads to avoid overly diligent authorities, and I think that was a very true statement! Greg
