Late 45 diesel radiator screen (pic)

We have the 45 up and running after the diesel conversion. Everything seems to have worked out just fine. It still needs some attention from its 25 years of rest in the barn such as a couple more belts and sickle sections.

The reason for posting was to ask about the radiator screen. This screen fits just like it was made for this 45 but I can't find it in any 45 parts catalog or the 180/202 engine catolog. It most certainly was made by a manufacturer with a very large press since it is a stamped part. I'm fairly certain that it is not homemade. The previous owner removed the factory screen and the cab ventilation system to allow the unit to fit in his short barn. We have since added back the cab air system but didn't see a real need to change the screen. The fellow who made the swap has since passed so he can't explain. Anyone recognize it from another application?

I know it's a shoddy photo but its all I have for the moment.

While I don't have any information, It reminds me a lot of some of the fronts that replaced the front grille on mounted cornpicker tractors.

Of those, I've seen some square ones, and a "streamlined" one pretty similar to what's on your combine.

One manfacturer or brandname was "supersnoot".

Any decals or numbers on the thing???

It's a JD factory 227 mounted corn picker screen; used on A - 60,70,etc, I remember well the ovel shaped (hand rad.) clean out door on side. I had my arm in one many times , picking in dry fall cond. ...

That's it!! I found it in the 227 catalog. I'm not sure if it's the one for the 60/620 or the 70/720 but that's for sure the shape and has the clean out doors on the top and side. The side door has been modified to accept the air cleaner intake on the combine.
