I have a 40 Deere combine and want to know if a 244 corn head will fit what a 244 is worth and also im having trouble with the combine running properly I rebuilt carb but believe the fuel pump is not supplying constant fuel does anyone know where to get rebuild or just put electronic pump on bottom of tank thats in advance

244 will not work, only a 205 will, which I have an extra one I would sell, think you can get new pumps at jd or napa

The fuel pumps on those older JDs are problematic. They just dont have the 'stuff' to suck the fuel UP from the tank to carb.Mount the 'lectric pump on the bottom of the tank,'bout 6" to a foot from the sediment bulb."plumb' the gasline clear up to the carb, completely bypassing the 'old' mechanical pump. I have had to replace the fuel pumps on all 4 of the jds I have owned with an electric. If fact,on the last one, I completely removed the pump and covered the hole with a steel plate-never worked better!

Will take 850 for the 205, not really sure on the 244, the 244 should fit several different jd combines thanks Doug, located in central ohio

To use a 244 on a 45 you need a quik-tach feederhouse. These were built after production of the 45,55,95 and 105 stopped. The 40 is narrower than a 45 and Deere never built a quik-tach feederhouse for a 40.If you find a 205 cornhead make sure it was on a 40 as some had 45 mountings.
