I have been looking at an old Ford 16-47 combine for sale. The only way I know to get it home would be to pull it.I was just going to take another set of tires and rims and swap them out. The tires aren't that great that is on it. A friend of mine told me that a Ford truck rim has the same 5 lug pattern. Does anybody know for sure what will interchange with it? Thanks for your help.

Your best bet will be a white spoke wheels for a old Ford 4x4. The bolt pattern will be right and the center hole will be big enough to fit the hub. Allso an old Jeep wheel will fit but as with the Ford wheel it all has to do with the dish of the rim. Most of the orginal 14" 15" and 16" wheels were only 4 1/2 to 6 1/2 inch wide rims and were center dish so keep that in mind for the back side for clearance to the machine. At one time I had a gravity wagon that had Ford White spoke wheels with 11Lx15 tires on it and it worked good, Just looked diffrent. Bandit

Well I"m in luck then. I have the original white spoke wheels that came on my 1978 F150 4x4. I"ll check the tires on them real good and swap those on to get it home.

I should have said this, After market white spoke wheels. The 5 bolt rims (for implements) have a 4 inch center hole and are the same lug pattern as a Ford and a Jeep wheels have. If your Ford wheels have a 4 inch center hole then they will fit. I forgot about stock white spokes Ford made. I hope I cleared this up, my bad. Bandit

Oh..ok. I'm not sure how big the center hole is. I will measure one tomorrow and see. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Drive "smart".Drive at a modest speed, even if its only 35-45 mph.Do not try to drive at 'normal' road speeds.Give yourself plenty of 'room' to stop-anticipate.Flag it well, use lights if possible.Check/grease wheel bearings.Make sure the tires are FULLY inflated. You can do it!

I figured 40mph would be top speed and I probably wont run that. I had thought about getting a set of those magnetic tow lights and sticking on the back of it. Hopefully I will have someone follow me also.

A five bolt Ford pickup rim will interchange with a lot of ag wheels. If you're close, go measure the bolt pattern to be sure.Or go take the spare from your F-150 and try it on.

Thats the problem, I'm not very close to the machine to measure it. I guess I will take two spare rims and tires for my truck and try it. I dread pulling it though. It will have to come down a 4 lane and at 3000lbs it will probably push my truck thru the lights.

Just plan on every light being red and come up to them slow...It wont push you thru the lights..I pulled a 2 ton IH disk 100 miles home behind a 1991 Ford Ranger and took it easy with no problems..
