i am looking for pictures and or a flex head itself to combine beans with my 1160. any pictures or explanation of modifying a regular rigid head would be great. i am willing to travel to mid west from NY to get one.

Thank you, Dan

Hart-Carter was a after market company that built floating cutterbars for combine heads. Probably hard to find now. I have a 22 1/2' Hart-Carter on a JD 100 series head that I run on 1660 or 1665 Case machines. If you don't have many to combine a straight head will work although not as good as a FCB.

Give casecollectorsc or casenutty over on the case forum a holler if they don't check in here.

Casecollectorsc has a JD head on a case machine.
Others have used a lovebar attachment or just used a rigid head with an auto height attachment.

Hello Dan I might have a left over love bar out back ,off case 1665 probably needs rebuilding im in SE Michigan I can go to the other farm and look if interested I will be going to eastern NY some time this spring Thanks Randall 517 605 3406

It's important to note that a flex head and a floating cutter bar, typical for that machine back in the day, are not the same. Flex head is the latest technology that shaves the ground.

No problem. I needn't have posted as I see you already responded as I was picture hunting.
I do like your harvest pics. Thanks for posting them earlier.
