Any of you all ever try this? Adding a baler to the back of your combine for baling straw?

Very common in Europe from the 1960s onwards. German and French built IH combines (i.e. D8-62,D8-64 and F8-63) had these straw balers as an option, hitched on the rear of the combine.

This one made by Welger is at the Hawk Museum in rural Wolford, ND. Sadly, they do not operate it at their shows.

That's neat. never saw one before. However, I have enough problems with my baler alone, I'm not sure I want to add a combine to the mix though. Still cool stuff.

Usually when combining in my neighborhood today, straw needs to lay a day or so to dry out.

The outfit pictured could have real troble if the crop was a little tough.
