2012 Skyrocket Wheat Harvest

Thanks for posting that! I was amazed at how they do that, and I always wanted to be out there during wheat harvest. I was also amazed at how heavy a wheat crop that seemed to be.

Our fields are not that BIG but let me tell ya we have some fields that will put a pucker in your pucker . And he is 100% correct on the older narrower combines as i use to do custom combining with yea go ahead and laugh a Massey 300 with a 2 row head and a 10 foot grain head. as it was the ticket for getting thru small gates and down narrow goat paths to field way back on a farm where the only way in was litterly thru the creek and thru the woods and only have 12-14 feet wide . Then getting on a steep side hill that you had to keep the cab on the up hill side and swing the unloading auger out to add a little extra weight then stand outside the cab just in case you had to bale , came close one time and it sure will make the old ticker beat a lot faster.

The flatlanders here in my neck of the woods would mess their pants on hill like that. I've cut wheat with a regular 2388 on a mountain sideslope where the combine was creeping sideways with a cliff on the downside and I don't ever want to do it again. Our relatively flat land here in NWIA is just fine with me. Did you notice he went right over the down wheat in the valleys? Looked like it was laying the wrong way and would have taken too much time and concentration to scrape off the ground with a head that size in a landscape like that, and talk to the video at the same time. I would just love to get in that cab and run it a day with that draper head just to get my fix. Jim
