Made the 88 mile run to Manchester Oklahoma today to help Ralph Bauer load the Super 92 Massey Ferguson combine. The combine was to wide to go on the trailer and not long enough to haul both. Got the header loaded, he is on the road with it now. Going back to help load the combine later. This is one NICE combine.

I didn’t get a picture of the “Buddy Seat” that was added on. It was very well made. I’ll try to get one when it is loaded for the trip home. Marvin thinks the motor needs an overhaul because it doesn’t run perfect. I am sure the motor is fine; everything on this machine is nice. Even the hydraulic brakes work. On the drive home I got to thinking – I’m gonna twist Ralph's arm till he lets me cut wheat with this jewel.

No wonder steering on the way home was so painful, .....Roger is already twisting my arms....LOL
Kinda disappointing not to be able to bring all of her home, but will have to have side extensions, possibly also on the ramp, just too wide...
Return trip was uneventful: a few drops here and there, stopped a few times to check chains and for supper. Didn't have a 55gal drum as someone suggested, so I brought a piece of culvert. Okay, but I think it would have been better if a little larger diameter for this long Massey feeder housing. I think the current one (~20" diameter)would be okay for a Deere.
Roger kept this city boy gone country busy, so I don't have many meaningful pics, but I'm posting what I got. Last pic shows Marvin pulling her back in and Roger on the combine wheel dreaming of cutting wheat.....

Besides the buddy seat Roger is mentioning and the bin extension, Marvin indicated that the "dual" straw spreaders were not factory original and were added by the first owner, his uncle, who drove this combine to the farm from Medford, OK when new.....

Sounds like a great way to spend a day!I have always thought that going to get them was half the fun of owning them.Great looking combine,It looks an awful lot like the newer 300 series but possibly a little bigger.I was watching your previous posts on lifting the header and feederhouse and was thinking that it was going to be a bear to haul because it would be WIDE either way you load it but you overcame that problem very nicely.Nice combine,Great job.

Nice combine, Ralph, looks like you boys had a great day. Here is a picture of my friend, Justin, on his D17 that we hauled home from Paola yesterday. He has helped me on the farm the last several years and caught the bug. He is just out of high school and working for an HVAC company, wants to start his own cow herd, as you can imagine I am super proud of this young man.

Ralph,I carry (2) real thick 10 ft long by 14" wide oak planks with me to load and haul wide combines..I use them going up the ramps..You just keep moving one in front of the other...Its quite a bit of work but gets the job done..When I get the combine where I want it I chain it down sitting on one or both of them..I did this on a 40 Oliver and S MM..

Wondering if 2x12x10ft pine would do, too. Got a couple of them at the farm...though oak is quite a bit stronger.
The tires on the S92 were 18.4s and at 101" , they would only be on the trailer with 6 inches on each side as we measured it. Ramps are about 1.5" narrower each side (so about 98") when pushed all the way out.
I'll look at my options ($ included). Thanks for the suggestion, Blaine!

I have a 222 corn head that I would sell cheap. It came off a 300 and has been stored inside its whole life. I am in central Missouri.

Beautiful looking S 92. Is there clearance to dish one or both of the drive rims out to narrow the machine up for travel.

Sharp looking combine.Seeing your pic makes me remember the 82 that dad had.The air intake on the right side was damaged and he took it off and fixed it but the screen was loose a few places.He decided to stick me inside to put nuts and washers on the bolts as he drilled the holes.No wonder that I do not like tight places,after wiggling in I thought that I was never going to get out.Now that I am older I wonder why he didn't use screws?
