Walking around today on the old family farm, originally purschased from the US in 1854 and then forced to sell in 1965 back to the US for the Stockton Lake in Missouri.

Found the old pull type just south of where one of the barns used to be. Guess it was not worth hauling off for scrap then.

First time I had been back since I was a little tyke. I think of ancestors not known to me but by name. My GGG Grandfather came from Kentucky and purschased the land. Direct family lived on it until it was taken for the lake. Of course, this part of the farm was on the high ground where the lake does not cover.

We live near Clinton Lake in Kansas. The town of Richland was leveled to make way for the lake, then politics got involved and the dam was moved further east. The town was not submerged but the only thing that remains is the concrete slabs. A friends grandfather showed me pics of the town dating from 1890 to the early 1960's. We live 2 miles from where the town was. It was really neat to see his pics, I need to scan them before he is gone and they are lost. A connection to Stockton, my grandfather keeps a boat there and I love to go down there. It is beautiful country and I enjoy the drive. Thank you for sharing your families story.

One can still see the upper rubber roller in the first pic.... neat. Wonder if it still has a few donor parts left????

Thanks for the pics...I'm only 35 miles from Stockton Lake..I used to run all over the bottoms back in the late 1960's when they were building the dam..

Blain, what make of combine do you think this one is. A fellow said he thought it mite be a McCormick, he is a better guesser than I am on this one. clint

It is an IHC. I do not know the model. Don"t know about donor parts being that it is on state and corp land now. I guess she will rust in peace for a couple decades more.
