My "new" Dominator combine has a name now.We were on the way home from church this morning and just happened to drive by the combine on the way to the house and my 7 year old daughter pops up "Daddy I like the green and white combine it kinda looks like the Grinch".I had been thinking about what to call it but now I know.If you think about it it kinda does favor the "grinch" with all that lime green on it!

Never named any of my machines or vehicles - they are usually referred by their model numbers or 'the combine' 'the big tractor', etc. Or as females. My boys are the same way. That may change once Grace is old enough to say more...

My Gleaner K2 is known as Frankencombine because it has a bish adapter with JD headers. The green and yellow and orange and galvanized don't quite go together .. ..

All tractors and combines are girls, I always refer to them as "she". Only one early 55 has a nickname. "(green) bullet" (loosely named after Bob Seger's Silver Bullet Band).Plus she's got quiet a few bullet holes in the sheet metal....lol

Ralph, did you ever get that 55 JD home?? You said there was a story to go with it on its location...

By the way none of my combines ever had names...My neighbors used to call my F3 Gleaner the Silver Seeder but it did a better job than lots of their combines..

I like it! On a side note, my friends great gpa who bought my truck in 1970 was Wallace. Everyone called him Wally, I named the truck Wally. Now when I get a tractor in a few years I'll call it Eva.

I dont nickname my combines.I call them by their given names-45;55;95;105,etc.I do have a baler that is nicknamed the "dinosaur baler"(1953 IH #55wire).Because it is as old and as big as a dinosaur. It also makes green dino poop!LOL Kids are great!!

I thought about you Friday when I passed Selbyville Tractor & Equipment, Selbyville, DE. There sat a Claas combine. It looking like it was in pretty good shape, at least at 55 mph. Just thought I would pass it along in case someone was looking for one.

You local or just passing thru? I"m just about 25 miles SW of there in Pocomoke, MD. We get hay parts from Selbyville. They sold Claas for quite a while.

I was just passing thru. I have delivered tractors and equipment to them a few times over the years. You know a farmboy has to checkout the tractor places as they go by!!

Yup! They have a 970 Case up there that's been sitting in the same spot for years. I want to ask about it, but I want to have some cash in hand when I do. Hard to do that lately.
