Thanks Tom!
I guess that at 6 dollar corn, I should call my local dealer up and order that new 105CS Diesel Hydro with a 6row head. Maybe pay for it with a couple semi loads to town!

Funny thing is that I have all these prices and info on the 10 and 20 series tractors and combines but I have no idea what a new Deere combine and heads sell for.

A couple semi loads of 14 dollar beans won't buy much now days either. It is crazy, 350k for a combine! I don't have the need to depreciate that much. I need to find a way to net that much though. Tax season and all...

Thanks for the post. I always had it in my head a 105 was in the $12000 range. Today $12000 would buy less than three rows of a new 12 row cornhead. Maybe only two rows. Jim

Found this on the web... #s about a year old.

S690 combine - $453,703
16 row corn head - $148,976
40 ft. grain head - $97,608
Combine plus 2 heads - $700,287

Here's some data I pulled together a couple years back. There are some prices too.

In 67 - 68, my dealers were selling G Gleaners for $10,000, with header but without straight cutting attachment or windrow pickup. Most customers in that area wanted Sundt pickups, although some bought Melroe as the Sundt were more prone to picking up rocks.
