John Deere 30 combine dimensions

Does anyone know the weight of a jd 30 combine? Also, what's the dimension from outside of wheels to the other? We are trying to see how to feasibily move one 200 miles.[/code]

According to a February 1956 sales brochure, the weight for a PTO machine is approx. 3,700 lbs. An engine powered unit is approx. 4,200 lbs.

Overall width is 10 feet, 11-1/2 inches. It doesn't say about width outside to outside of wheels.

Put a good set of truck/hiway tires on it,Grease the
wheel bearings, secure the header up,Swing the tounge
over, flag it well and pull it behind your pickup. If
you want move the hitch point on your pickup to make
it pull 'square' behind.Pulled several wide pieces
over 300 miles.went down the interstate hyway,even
in the big citys

Pulled mine about 50 miles to get it home. Greased the hubs good. I built an offset hitch that put most of the combine behind the truck. I put two of those magnetic taillights on top of it and screwed a slow-moving vehicle sign to the rear. I left the original tires on it because they looked good. I pulled it about 40 mph all the way home. No problem. I highly recommend the magnetic taillights.

We know you are a brave man, Delta !! LOL
Ralphie.

BTW: Which is the "secret" gravel(?)road that you travel on east/west through Kansas?? Heard you mention it a while back. May have partial need to use it coming up soon. Email is open. Thanks!
