mf 70 fan 12-20-2012 03:35:19 212.183.128.146 Report to Moderator	hi im in southeast england and im a big fan of mf 700 and 800 series combines but the 760 with the red cab is my fav i have never driven or sat in one but i like to read and talk about them [sad i know]with people who drove ,owned, or worked on them,i would like one of my own one day but i dont grow any corn so it prob will never happpen but i can dream, [Reply]   [No Email]

I rode many rounds behinde the operators seat laying down, I probably slept a lot as I can remember. Either that or on the 510. I never liked the 510. When dad would turn in he'd hit the brake and it'd roll me into the front window!lol I still remember trading the 760 of and the sales man had came with and it was to big to get on the trailer. He insisted to drive it 45 mile back to the dealers lot and I'm pretty sure he never found road gear! As much as he tried I can still here the gears grinding..   [Reply]  [No Email]

urbancase 12-21-2012 00:08:10 65.196.192.2 Report to Moderator	Re: massey 760 combines in reply to mf 70 fan, 12-20-2012 03:35:19   i had one 510 and two 750's and i liked them both and is what i started with, they were a pain most times to work on. my last 750 was getting old and at the time we had some real wet falls and i seemed to get them hung up a few times every year,so i switched to caseih 1680 4x4 does a great jobs low seed loss and havn't had a wet fall since.   [Reply]  [No Email]

Those old combines were great in their day but miserable to work on. That and now that Agco is a joke to get parts from nobody wants them. Even the nicer 850 and 860 machines here that show up on auctions bring little more than scrap price.   [Reply]  [No Email]

Mn. Perfect combine with 3 perfect heads. All to go for $13,000. Never got one call. I am in the wrong part of the world for anyone to want this machine. He had fairly good luck with it. It was a gear drive the shifter on the column was a real PIA to shift. The Perkins engine was good but the machine was real hard to work on.   [Reply]  [No Email]

Very smooth running trouble free machine. Pushing a 6-30 corn head in 200bpa corn 1000 bushels per hour were no problem. Biggest problems we had was 2 broken straw walkers and a bar on the rear beater wore out and came apart. We sold the combine for what we gave for it and bought a '84 860. Capacty wise the 860 will shell about 1300 bph pushing a 6-30 cornhead. Not as much of an increase in capacity as we had hoped for but quite acceptable.   [Reply]  [No Email]
