Heres a rough old 123 McCormick combine thats about 20 miles from me..For years it sit close to a black top road, then it disappeared...Well,I went by there last week for the first time in ages and saw it on the same farm..It had been pushed and hidden behind some trees..With the leaves gone I could now see it again.

I was hoping that the engine exhaust had been covered but it wasnt..I could use a decent engine..

That's a cream puff compared to the one I drug 400 miles home... good thing we had two trucks, needed the second truck to carry all the parts that fell off on the way home. Someone did me the favor of leaving the spark plugs out for forty years. The sleeveless Green Diamond now has six sleeves. It came from a farm that Rt. 57 cut in half, between Salem and Kinmundy in Illinois.

That's not a 123SP, its a 125 SPVC, an upgraded version. It has a different grain pan (1 piece instead of a 2 piece hinged affair, 123 only),large single tires instead of the duals used on the 123 SP,125 SP and 125 SPV and the lowered grain tank with the unloading auger started on the 125 SP. Nearly the same machines with yearly upgrades.

The next model was the 127 with a variable speed drive, top mounted engine and slightly longer walker.

That one has seen its better days.

Any new small town pictures? Always love looking at those. On a related subject I remember seeing pictures of an abandoned IH dealer in Marquette KS or NB? I was wondering if that was one of your posts? Would like to see those pictures again.

My Dad had a 123 that had been upgraded to a 125..It had the one piece platform auger with no canvas, the dual drive wheels had been converted to singles, the bin had been lowered and an unloading auger installed, and the tricycle rear wheels were done away with..

Its hard to find a 100% original 123 but I got lucky and did in 2008..I'm thinking that this combine is a 123 because the lowered grain bin still has the slide dump mechanism and it still has the tricycle rear end..

Here are scans of my original 123,125,and 127 McCormick sales literature..

1206, do you know where the S/N is located? The one I have is a rust bucket and I haven't found it yet. Thanks, Fritz

Fritz, the first picture shows where its located...Its on the right side stamped on the bracket above the pulley about where the sun light is..Mine is 123G 10738..Let me know what yours is..

The 2nd picture is where my 123 sat from the early 60's until May 2008...Its SW of Ransom,KS..The largest rattle snake found in Ks was less than 1/4th mile away..

The 3rd picture is my 123 on my trailer in down town Loretta,KS..With lots of work we got it down to 12' 6" tall..

I'm keeping track of 123's if anyone knows where one is located at.I have around (25) 123's listed..

The opera house in Grainfield was once quite a good sized Gleaner dealership. I have the porcelain dealership sign from there hanging in my shop.
