The original subject was "Re: Galvanized 21 Massey Combine Picture For CLTX".

There was three galvanized 21 MH combines sold in Northern Alberta in 1945 ,Dad had one .It was a 12ft ,canvas table hand lift .I was in hi school and would drive it at night and my older brother drove it in the daytime . We averaged 35 acres a day .We drove it to a grain bin to unload which took alot of time .I think my arm is still sore from that hand lift Two years later we bought a 21A 14 ft uger table . The dealer sold 28 that year

Thats some interesting reading..I'll bet those three 1945 model 21's are long gone..Today galvanized 21's are considered to be pretty rare as not very many have survived..I personally have only seen pictures of a couple of survivors, all in Canada..

I have a 21 MH and a 21-A MH both with 14 ft heads..They have electric lift..

Hi folks, here in the UK Ron Knight has a restored one in his collection. It came here on the Lease Lend scheme in the 1940s. I have seen it working at one of Rons working weekends. MJ

I found one of them that the owner was usine to grade his long driveway .He had the table on the ground and pulled it backwards .There wasn't much left of it . I have a Sunshine stripper selfpropel ,a # 9 Massey pull type ,first one to have a motor on it ,a MH SP clipper ,two Cockshutt SP hand lift 12 ft tables and a 35 MH with a 4 ft pickup . When we had the 21 MH we had a new Studabaker 1/2 ton truck that we would use to haul grain .We had to shovel off the load in a grain bin .Lots of hard work. We didn't have a swather or dryer .Quite alot of grain spoiled . But the binders all disappeared in three years as there was a shortage of laybour caused by the war .

There's a galvanized #21 at the Pioneer Museum a few miles south of Moose Jaw, Sask. It's not in the best of shape, but not made into Toyotas either. Hopefully the picture will post. They also have a pretty nice #20 there and a very nice Oliver 30. A very interesting museum.

A museum is listed on my newest Saskatchewan map in a 2013 road atlas as the "Western Development Museum". It shows it as west of highway 2 and south of Moose Jaw. Is that the same place?

Sitting out in the weather and elements sure does take its toll on these machines.

Ron, The official name is called Sukanen Ship Museum. (There's a long story why it's called that. I'm sure it tells you on their web site). There's a lot to see and it's well stocked.
You're right about leaving machinery sit out in the elements. The nicer combines they store inside for the winter. Not sure about this 21.
Sukanen Ship Mu.
