7700 Transmission

My 7700 quit going on the road today. I beleive it is the connection between the hydro and transmission. Can someone give me a crash course in how to break it down?
i.e.
Do I have to remove both the hydro and transmission? Which one first?
Have I probably stripped splines and are they likely the ones on the connector or the shafts?
If it is the shafts, how hard are they to replace?

Any other advice will be appreciated.
Thanks...

Loosen the hydro belts, slide a board under the hydro lengthways and support it. Remove the 4 bolts that attatch the hydro to the trans. You should be able to slide the hydro away from the trans about 6-8 inches. You can then access the coupler and stub shaft. Not bad job. Good luck.

I had that happen on my 7720 a few years ago. The coupler stripped and the splines were worn on the trans. and the hydro. I ended up getting a rebuilt hydro from worthington ag parts and a new input shaft for the transmission. I had the dealer do that one so I can't really give any other tips.
