The right lift cylinder under the feederhouse on my 6600 started leaking, it will let the feederhouse clear down to the ground. I've never had a cylinder like that apart, is this one that anyone can fix or do you need special tools and such? Thanks, Chris

If it is like the ones on a 4400 and I think it is.

Take the cylinder off the combine and put it into a vise. Remove the hyd fitting from the butt end. Extend the ram until you see the end of it in the hyd port. Working through the hyd port with a small screwdriver, work the snap ring off the ram. Pull the ram and replace the packing. Reverse to reassemble. The hardest part is working the snap ring back on the ram through the hyd port.

There is a groove just front of the snap ring that you slip the snap ring into and it will stay on the ram and that makes it easier on reassembly you just flip it back into the groove
