Removing chopper from F

Need to remove chopper to remove shoe. Looks to me like only three bolts on each side holding it in. One at back at top corner and two on front that holds the shields. Does that sound right?

Yes, removing three bolts each side should do it. Its heavy and awkward so be careful. We built a cradle on casters that we roll into position just below the chopper when removing it. Sure helps when reinstalling the chopper too.

Or 2 long pipes stuck on a loader fork to catch it. Be careful things don't slip.....

Do you really need to remove it to get at the shoe? Maybe just let it hang on the back two bolts? That's how I did mine when combining barley and didn't use the chopper- just had an angle iron brace to steady it, hanging straight down.

I am able to hang a chainfall above combine and catch the handles on the sides with a pair of long nylon slings. I think it best to just remove it. Makes it easier to get under to get at shoe.
