My reverser on my 8820 quit today while cutting beans. Doesn"t make any noise. Works fine in reverse. Checked the oil and it was full and clean. Going to drain it tomorrow and look for metal and make sure linkage is fully engaged. Belts tight spring is not broke. Does anyone know of anything else simple it could be?

Is it going back into forward for sure, the cable may be just sticking or binding. Unhook the cable at the gearbox and try to shift the rail by hand at the feederhouse.

It ended up being the lock ball on the inner sheave was gone due to breaking or previous owner didn"t put it back in. It let the sheaves slide outward enough that both half moon keys were gone. Guess it slid just enough to let them pivot and come out the inside. Two new keys and a new ball is all it needed.
