wet weather and custom harvesters are getting behind this year. a neighbor across the river called me about combining his corn (and beans). i told him i had enough to do with my own corn., then offered the 715 that hasn't been used in several years. we got it going and he did about 50 ton before the rain started again.

Nice looking pair Bill..They may have some age but in one days time they could still shell lots of bushels of corn..

Nice combines !! What's that other one hiding on the far right of the pic behind the wagon, Bill ??
Ralph in OK.

lol... can't hide them noway!
the combine in the other end of the barn is a massey 510 that i had before the 715 and 1460. the 510 has been a good old machine but its showing its age. i used it last year in the flood corn, figured it was better than wearing on the 1460.
i have dad's massey 410 in the barn next door, too.

dalet, you are right. the 715 showed up here because
a) it was IH and i wanted a 715
b) the price was right, with both heads
c) the engine is super, and could be used in a tractor if/when the combine isn't anymore

but after using the 715 a bit, it became the backup unit to the 510. then the 1460 arrived and everything else became backup.
