Talk about overkill. Or maybe combine killer. I'm thinking that thing carries just a little more than it was designed for.

Very few people realize (or admit that they realize) that such "ADD-ON's as that void any factory warranty, but also relieve the manufacturer of any contingent liability should someone be injured as the result of a machine failure for any reason.

Be very, very careful about adding to or modifying factory design - assuming the manufacturer's liability could be a fast way of ending your farming career!

Also, adding an extension like that raises the center of gravity a lot and will make the machine much more likely to tip over on a hillside. If a friend was helping you out and tipped the machine over and was injured, all of the liability would be yours.

Dick's Welding would promptly file bankruptcy and the manufacturer would simple declare that is was an altered machine and the company has no liability (proven in many court cases).

That thing must really be braced. I can't imagine it would stand
up to a load of corn being so "horizontal", let alone a bouncing
load in the field.

I'll bet that unit has axle issues faster than any CIH unit!
