Saturday morning at 6:30 am I and two friends headed 125 miles northwest to the Gene Miller sale near Pomona,KS..Over 100 old tractors and lots more was selling...It was a chilly and cloudy day and never did get over 47 degrees..They ran 2 rings part of the day and it still took until 4:30 pm to get done.

I took the trailer as my goal was to buy the 40 Cockshutt but I was runner up bidder on it..It went for $2250..My second choice was a GVI MM but it had sold earlier for scrap at $575..I hunted up the new owner whom was a very nice guy and he took a quick $125 profit..

1--E Gleaner sold for $600 and will be junked..Flewster (Wayne) whom posts on here will tell you more..

2-A fairly nice shedded All Crop that sold when I was elsewhere..

3--A NH square baler and an AC round baler..I have no prices..There was another AC round baler..

4-- The Cockshutt 40 that I didnt get..Sold for $2250..

5--The GVI MM diesel that sold for scrap for $575 ..They say it had been overhauled and not used.

6--The GVI MM on my trailer after I got it bought from a very nice junker..It came close to meeting a bad fate...Also on the trailer are my friends tires,my tires, and a friends Massey 55 diesel engine that should run for less than $300..

7--My 1988 Ford F-350 with 460 and a 5 speed..It has plenty of power but loves gas..

8--The star of the sale..This Series I D-21 Allis #1211 sold for $12,000..

9--MM G-706 FWA sold for $4400..

10--5 HP Galloway engine on trucks sold for $2300..

11--The 460 IH gas with fresh engine sold for $1600..The 10-20 McCormick sold for $1100

12--This nice WD-9 McCormick sold for $1000..

13--The D-19 Allis in the middle sold for $4300..

14--This 400 Case diesel Wheatland sold for $2300..

15--Nice old 1957 Ford truck..

I'm going to post the MM and Oliver tractor pictures and prices in the MM forum...

Nice Pics. I wish I had taken some.

I was able to buy the cab off the combine to put on my 1957 A that I have. I took it off today and actually it was not that hard to do. It came apart in pieces. After some clean up and painting I will be putting it back on my combine. Now.........what color should I paint it??????

Good seeing you again.

(quoted from post at 16:46:54 10/07/12) Pictures can be deceiving. I would say the WD-9 is really a WD-6 just by looking at the picture.

Actually I think it was a WD-6 if I remember right

You guys are probably right...I think that the first picture is the WD-9 by the baler....It sold for $775 while the nice WD-6 sold for $1000??

The following was on the sale..

WD-6
WD-6
WD-9
W-9 with loader
W-4
W-450 diesel
W-30

Heres the W-4 but that looks like a WD-9 between the Oliver 1950 and the 55 Massey..Maybe it was the $1,000 one?

Pictured is the 1950 Oliver RC that sold for $5100..Theres some more Oliver pictures on the Oliver forum..

The cab will make that A very nice machine to operate. And most do not like a water cooler, I put one on my A with cab and that thing was nice. Filtered out all the dust ect and was cool enough to be comfortable, plus it does not have all the hight $$$ issues of an AC unit. That cab looks very nice. I would paint it white most Gleaner cabs of that era are white.

Wayne,it was nice visiting with you at the sale..Glad the cab
came off easy..I think white would look good..I'm glad that I
didnt live as close to the sale as you did or my yard would be
full of old tractors.Theres several more that I now wished that
I had bought..

Had a close call east of Pomona..The train crossing bar came
down and we slid to a stop 6" from it...Kind of tough to see
there..

Sorry, but all I wrote down was the 400 wheatland..Cant remember what the 900's brought..My neighbor has a 900 LP that his Dad bought new..

one quick question I also have a Gleaner A with a Hercules my serial tag is gone, is the serial # stamped some where on the machine? thanks in advance.
