Here is a poor picture taken in June 2012...At one time the largest combine dealer in the world operated out of this building..Its Humphrey Implement Co,the former Massey Ferguson dealer in Kiowa,KS..

Right after WW2 the Humphrey family became the Massey Harris dealer in Kiowa,KS..It was called the Kiowa Service Company..From the mid 1940"s until the 1970"s ??? they were billed as the largest combine dealer in the world...I have heard stories that there were often 500 or more new and used combines sitting in Kiowa...They also sold combines in 4 foreign countries..

June of this year was the first time I had ever been in Kiowa..I would have loved to seen it 50 years ago....If anyone has old pictures or information it would be appreciated..

I was there in the spring of 1980 looking at combine trailers. Didn't buy one though. Lots of iron around as I remember it but I don't remember much of anything else about it and no pictures.

Sort of old now, but the video The 2000 Mile Harvest shows some footage from Kiowa, including a big sign "Combine City USA." Mentions they were once the biggest MF combine dealer in the world.
