Several things could cause that:The spring is loose;the 'teeth' are worn;gease on the 'faces'.something hanging up somewhere on the FH or head.;green trash wrapped up on the stalk rolls...Look everything over close,you will find it.But,Whatever you do,do NOT weld the slipclutch solid!!
 
I will bet someone greased that slip clutch to often. The 1660 I bought years ago would slip the clutch on the clean grain elevator when you got into heavy corn.

Opened up the clutch and found it full of grease.

Washed it up put it back together and never another issue.

Those zerks on slip clutches are to grease that shaft that the clutch spins on when it slips. Otherwise no grease is ever needed. So one pump of grease every 500 Hours or so is plenty for a slip clutch.

OK already, I think we get the idea. I gave out poor advice, I will never recommend anybody weld their slip clutch again.

I still stand by my fix, only in that specific application. In my situation the grain conveyor had no problems, it was a problem of inability to tighten the slip clutch spring. Also the grain conveyor is not an area where people can get hurt, or where you would usually get big rocks, etc that would cause major damage; along with the shear bolt I have no doubts about my situation being OK. It is also not completely original to me, I know of a person who has run a 105 exclusively for years in North Dakota, who did this over 10 years ago.



It is obviously not something you would do with a feeder house, that wouldn't be something I would even consider; but I guess that is something that somebody else might. So with that happy harvesting and lock up the welder.
 
what crop are you running, we have seen this in green stem beans with wraping stems on the top shaft area. as mentioned full inspection will probably find the problem. DeltaRed is a funny guy, and Bradley is an excellent sport.
