I am east of Red Deer Alberta an hour,it was barley that ran out not too bad. Some quack grass that's getting a drink of roundup next day or so...

are you running in 1st gear or second, taking two or three rows?

I am looking forward to it, just hope it works like it should.

Thanks

Neat pics. I am almost 100% john deere but I always thought a 1206 was one sharp tractor, the white grill and fenders make them look great.I hae never even been close to a big pull-type combine but I have the sales brochures to the Deere 96 and 106 and think there are neat. Thanks for posting.

Red Deer area is a really beautiful area. We were amazed at the dinosaur museum in Drumheller. If you are ever close don't miss it.

I am running 1st gear, which puts me @ 2.5 MPH, in direct drive. I am taking 4 rows of 36" tall beans. I have the 21" reel drive pulley, and the slow speed auger drive pulley installed. Running cylinder adjust levers about 4 notches down from all the way closed (top). I put a brand new cylinder drive belt on this year; I always forget the difference new rubber makes. Spinning cylinder @ 673 RPM. Very little,if any, cracking of beans. Moisture @ 12.1%

Chaffer set to just lets unthreshed pods thru, shoe sieve set close to barely let clean beans thru.

I also run a SkourKleen, with the slotted soybean screen; removes ALOT of weed and pod halves.

I run the head right on the ground, and keep a sharp eye for rocks.

Best of luck!

We are 40 miles from Drumheller and yes it is a good museum.Lived in this area all my life,so you kinda take the scenery for granted..
