Homemade cutterbar grain saver

In the past I saw someone had made a grain saver/rock guard that bolted at the holddowns on combine header out of pvc pipe. Worked similar to the one in Shoup catalog. I can't seem to find the information on it by seaching the old posts. Can someone point me in the right direction or tell me what size/type plastic pipe was used, etc..

Thanks

I used the ribbed flexible (but stiff) 2 inch sprayer hose. Used electical single-bolt hold-down clamp every couple feet.

Works great, put it on the header 3-4 years ago.

I hear 3 inch works well too. In addition to holding in a little bit of beans, the bigger help is in feeding the beans to the header auger - really helps with that.

I had a johnson unit on my head but then switched to the 2'chemical hose, liked it so much better, I had to keep replacing brkts on the johnson guard.
