This disc type can be used for making a seedbed on ploughed soil, or for making a rough seedbed on grain stubble to allow weeds to germinate and be killed off by later cultivating.
 
Quite an unusual and interesting tool.I think that
tool would work well for me and save a 'pass' or
two.I will have to look into one....May have to make
my own.'Marry' a roller harrow to a tandem disk?

That is a more compact disc with just the disc blades angled on a straight frame. The ones that we have have straight discs on an angled frame, but that one should work just the same on a more compact unit. Nice design.
