New Idea No. 10 picker Problems

Hi,
I have recently purchased and began to use a NI 10 picker. The picker was working fine for a number of passes in the field and then it suddenly started slamming and shaking. It made the most horrible noises Ive heard coming from a machine like this. Im kinda new to this aspect of farming and this picker. It seems to me that the issue is in the rollers/huskers. That they may not be lining up and this is causing them to beat and slam.
The rollers/huskers are new.
What is wrong and how do I fix this? I have purchased a manual for it, but it wont be here for a few days.
Thank you,
Corey

Not familliar with the #10 but probably not a whole lot different than our #323. I would look for a stuck piece of cob somewhere, like in the cross conveyor under the husking bed. Ours will get cobs stuck under the chain cogs next to the elevator and can be hard to find sometimes - nearly impossible to clear without taking the bottom tray off at times. When the slip clutch ratchets it really sets off a rukus. Check the gathering chain area too ( might have got a rock stuck in there). Of course with the husker rolls being worked on it could be a bolt loosened up/came out, as someone else said. I don't remember if the husking rolls need to be timed too.

Typically one of the slip clutcheds going over, something is jammed somewhere.

Run in idle just a little to see which part is not working, so you can focus on that area of the machine.

Typically a cob stuck in somewhere jamming something up. Or could be a boldt loose, or some other mechanical issue.

Could be a gearbox gone bad too.

Not familiar with your exact model, but NI in general.

Be careful around a picker, you do _not_ want to be sticking a hand anywhere near while it is running, even in idle speed. All the old timer one armed men in the farm communities can tell you, that is not a good idea at all. Seriously.
