1063 Gear box?

I have tried to stick to the lubricants recommended by CIH on the 1660, getting ready to shell corn and found 3 of 6 gear boxes low on the row units on the 1063. Looking in the manual and it says to use CIH 135H EP or SAE 85W-140. Is there any reason to run the CIH oil or can I get by with gear oil from Napa? Thanks, Erik

yes, any good quality gear lube---stay with 85-140--
don't use 90 weight. Check seals under stalk rolls-
their the main culprit and don't take much to
change. Seals under driver are a little harder to
install and you should use a special tool but a
piece of pipe would do.

Had a 944 head and one gear box would need oil every year.
Used Napa gear oil for 10 years and never had a single
problem with the gearboxes. Heck the Napa gear oil is
expensive enough!
