Gleaner raddle chain lubrication

Don't see in the F2 operators manual anything about lubrication of the raddle chain. I did replace the idlers. Do you lubricate the raddle chain and if so, how?

I lubricate my raddle chain on the first start up of
the season.I use used vegatable cooking oil from a
restaraunt applied with a pump sprayer.

Oh no! You used that precious commodity that way! It should have gone in with your diesel fuel!
Last summer I got 100 gals.(after the bio plant did whatever they do to it)(I expected it to look like the golden, clear stuff you see in the grocery store, but it was dark). I mixed it at various rates with my diesel fuel, and had no problems. I didn't get any french fry aroma either, darn!

Been running Gleaners for nearly 40 years and have never lubed a raddle chain yet, nor have have I ever heard anyone or an operators manual suggest they need oiling. They run dry just fine.

K in "76, then F, then F2, now, M2....never lubed a raddle chain.......never lost one. Four used combines in 36 years (crap, hope I did the math correctly)- Just lube the chains outside of the thresher chamber. Sloppy/oily might not look cute and clean, but performance and longevity works for me.
